Clarification on Exp system

Ok let me begin by saying, I really don't believe that exp should be gained through such means as travel posts, or any random stroll in the park posts. I believe they should remain relevant to the point. There should be a certain reason as to why you gain exp. I believe only posts you should gain exp for should be event posts, battles and training. Even gaining slight exp trough interaction would be fine with me, but the fact you gain 15 exp for just walking around in the park on your own makes no proper sense for me.

Sorry you feel that way, our rules for advancement rely upon experience, however, and many also require a word count, so I don't think it should matter all that much.

Purely an opinion. Whether it's heeded is up to the higher power of course. Everyone's always going to have some sort of a problem, and this is a bit of an issue I have.  But you know, can't get everything perfect.

It is somewhat to the point actually. When you RP is the only time you will gain exp. We will look at the threads you have done IC upon the updates and not count OOC posts like complaints and such. Also, ofcourse you'd gain considerably less xp for moving about than actually doing something. lol.  No one should make a boring thread where nothing goes on. That would be pointless.

I have to disagree Cold. Basically those three you mentioned, training, battles and events, are just about only action stuff. RP is not just about action. So I think, in my opinion, that players should get exp for anything they do IC, if they have posted 300 or more words for it.

Our site is based more on interaction and role play than power housing. You know what will happen if we limit XP through training threads? Well you'll only see training threads. Allowing XP for simple things such as building your own plot or letting yourself do whatever you want entices players to RP more than arming up.

This topic was pretty much already over when Shinji posted, but if you feel the need of adding pretty much the same point that's alright. What I was more against was gaining xp through travel posts, which is the whole reason to why I started this topic in the first place. In my opinion it shouldn't be the case. I understand the point that's being made about training posts, but I did not say limit the XP just to training posts. I understand the point being made, but I still believe posts should be evaluated before any XP is given for them and in my opinion travel posts should not have any XP.

the final conclussion is......ANYTHING IC gives you XP!   (just not ooc posts in brackets from ppl arging or making rulings, etc.)
